Illya's sacrifice scene was fantastic, but everything after that was very disappointing and left a bad taste in my mouth. I try and ignore the existence of that epilogue, tbqh.
Maybe it's because while I like Heaven's Feel and don't dislike Sakura as a character, I just can't see Shirou and Sakura as a happy, healthy couple and don't like them as a pairing at all.
I'm not usually a tragedyfag, but I kinda feel HF should end with Shirou dying. A "good" ending for it might be Sakura slowly recovering and finding out that the best way to honour his sacrifice and all he did for her is living and enjoying her life.

There's a path to the Normal End that includes the Kotomine fight. Unlocks after you've done True End, and gives you an extra choice after the epic abortion debate fight.

It really reminds me of Tsukihime, every ending is hopeful but every ending has Shiki dying before his thirties. The only happy endings are ones that are momentary there is no grand finally that results in everyone making it work out that isn't "End of the dream."

It isn't meant to be a romance like Fate and UBW were. Nasu says he treats love and romance as completely separate can of worms.
The romance happened before the beginning of the story and we get some flashbacks but HF is starting from the point of "these two are already married" and doesn't really build on that.
If you played the VN without spoilers Sakura has already ticked the right childhood friend checkboxes for that to be unnecessary.
Aside from that HF dwells on characters flaws. Shirou is inherently self-destructive and Sakura admires and has picked up on that self-destructive attitude. They're bad for each other as much as they're good for each other and dealing with that is what the story is about.

This. Sakura is the kind of girl one generally roots for despite them often getting screwed over and not getting much time in the spotlight (similar to Sacchin). As you see that she and Shirou are falling in love with eachother, you're elated, but the mysteries surrounding and pointing towards her make you feel uneasy, and the route challenges your view of her as it goes on by presenting negative facets of her from biased perspectives, only to get catharsis in the end as the clues add up and you realize she wasn't actually a bad person at all after all. If you get spoiled on cherrypicked negative details early on, you'll go into the route with the assumption that they must be true, and end up questioning why she got such a happy ending.
