It's really hit and miss though. Some great jokes, but more that fell flat so I didn't really like it that much overall. Funnier series include

It's extremely mediocre. So many of the gags fall flat and a lot of the humor feels extremely forced.
Japs generally can't do comedy well, particularly in anime. They're at their best with whacky, over the top humor in shows like Cromartie and Dokuro-chan, but even then, they're always inconsistent.
The best comedy-related thing to come out of Japan is Gaki no Tsukai, specifically Batsu Game. No surprise it's not an anime.

Really great comedy but it was very hit or miss. If every episode was as consistently funny as episode 1 then it would be fucking top-tier. As far as comedies Gintama and Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun are better IMO. Gintama is Gintama and GSNK is just a personal fan of mine. It's really good throughout and super comfy for some reason
