Depends on what hiatus you're talking about. If you made it to the "gigapause" in 2014 you're close enough to the end that you might as well read it, but if it was an earlier hiatus and you can live without knowing then it might not be worth it to you. If you want to know if the ending was good then no, but the animation was incredible so you might as well watch it either way. Lots of loose ends left and very few characters got any sort of resolution to their character arcs, but at least there will be an epilogue someday.
