Yugi and Kaiba never finished their duel, Kaiba never got to beat Yami, Yugi isn't shown moving on because he still has to rely on Yami, Kisara doesn't come to take away Kaiba's edge and give him his smile back, new characters were introduced only to do nothing but job, and the archetype created for him is complete trash.

I agree with this anon. The ending of the anime, Yugi defeats Atem basically signifying that Atem was to move on and the Yugi had surpassed the Pharaoh. With Atem coming back and helping Yugi it kindoff goes back on the ending for the anime which makes it look like Yugi hasn’t grown and still has to rely on the pharoah.
I was also expecting a competent rival but Aigami jobs every fucking duel.
Sucks that there is no Kisara but I imagine that 1) It'll get fleshed out in the manga and 2) after Kaiba and Atem duel, Kaiba meets/reunites with Kisara and do their thing or Kaiba loses and keeps going to the afterlife trying to beat Atem and Kisara tries to help. Kisara being happy that she gets to see Kaiba. (Hijinks ensues)
A better way of doing the whole Atem coming back this would be that when Yugi passes out, he takes a glimpse into the afterlife and sees the Pharaoh all happy. Yugi remember all the stuff that Atem had to go through and would feel guilty to bring him back to the mortal world and make him solve his(Yugi’s) own problems. Yugi would wake up and make a comeback.
The movie is an 8/10 maybe 9/10 if you’re being generous but no way is it a 10/10 that’s just you faggots using your nostalgia goggles
