Harems are a lot more popular with investors than anime studios. They don't make the studios very much money (especially not compared to the returns seen by the publisher and merch companies), but in an industry where your profit margins hinge on the often fickle otaku audience's buying habits having something that's at least guaranteed to sell in moderate amounts can't really be turned down.
Can't always gamble on trends or original projects for big hits, taking small but guaranteed profit is how you survive.

Actually that's pretty much how Toei works, they're owned by FujiTV so they never have to bid for a TV slot and a lot of their funding comes directly from that network. For most Studios though, TV networks rarely join production committees since they stand to make money anyway from anime studios approaching them for air time. That may change in the future though with Netflix and other companies producing anime to be exclusively available on streaming services.

It's taken a lot of convincing because the other investors and the studios themselves are skeptical of online streaming as a primary platform, but Netflix offers them so much money that they find it hard to turn down.

Why the fuck do you think they're trying to "disrupt" the market? Why on earth would they want to do that? They want in on the market. They want to plug their company into that revenue stream and use it as a jumping off point to produce other media for Japanese audiences to get more Japanese subscribers.
Just like how Netflix has been bankrolling original programming in the west, they want to do the same thing in Asia where their market presence is considerably lower. Anime studios are how they are planning to build bridges in Japan because they are mostly mercenary and tend to follow the money. If they can make a few lucrative hits with anime studios they can prove to Japan they are a successful model and get even more business from other producers.

They talk about an excursion, her memory of the past day is erased by deus ex machina and we return to the start. School ends they talk about eternal friendship and thats it... it cuts to black the characters have learned nothing, achieved nothing and will hopefully go back to where they came from and return to nothing. All the work the show put in character development and making the audience care about the characters is completely undone..
