I watched Madoka when it aired. I thought it was meh. After several rewatchs and having watching Rebellion I changed my opinion; it's a masterpiece.

Episode 10 aired the day of the tsunami, right before it. Even before the earthquake and tsunami, they were having heavy issues to be on time to air the episode, they were giving the episode to the channel less than an hour before airing lately. Gen even said that he was an asshole since after the earthquake his first thought wasn't "I hope my relatives are OK" but "Oh fuck, they won't be able to finish the episode in time with that shit" since they were already running out of time and a pillar in Shaft's building was partly broken.
They used that to have a deal to delay the airing of 11 and 12 to the same day in late april.
