However that doesn't mean that other composers aren't good. And half the time it depends on context. There's plenty of stuff Kanno has done that wouldn't have been half as good if Hisaishi did it, and vice versa. You basically have to be a stuck up hipster to say "you can only like ONE composer, and it has to be MY favorite or else your an idiot!"

Wouldn't call myself a TMfag but Fate is decent, and the Madoka soundtrack is one of my favourites.
Yeah, Sawano Hiroyuki has really only composed for shit anime, but the soundtracks themselves are good.
>>140380880
1. When it comes to doing a vast amount of work in a limited amount of time, sometimes originality just takes too long.
2. I don't know much about the anime production pipeline, but if it's anything like movies then oftentimes scenes are edited to temp tracks and the composer's job relies less on originality than mimicking that track without falling into infringement territory. Then you have cases where the director will outright give the composer reference music to base their score on.
>>140385155
In one side, I feel the need to resist myself of committing cancerous vaguely pointed shitposting.
On the other hand, I also feel the need to tell you how much of casual plebs you are to think anything come from TM is ever remotely good.
Since you can tell that Hiroyuki only composed for shit anime, I won't call you shittaste for now.Considering how far Fateshits spread among casual, at best Yuki Kajiura is in "baby's first anime composer" tier.
Hiroyuki does sucks, especially in OnS.

Yuki Kajiura is still good...especially for movie soundtracks. Just shows you how much the Unlimited Blade Works soundtrack sucked (it really was underwhelming and forgettable) that they brought her back for Heaven's Feel.

This happened to me withSawanoaround the time I think Shingeki's anime came out. It wasn't the tracks themselves, but I realized I'd heard one of the vocalists somewhere before. It grated on me that I couldn't remember where that I spent forever combing through my OSTs half remembering a bunch of songs that all had this vocalist in it but weren't the one I was looking for. I can't even remember which track I was trying to remember, but it made me notice I had a number of tracks with this vocalist and they all had the same composer.
Of course, it was Mika Kobayashi and they were all Sawano OSTs. People like to shit on Sawano nowadays, and not necessarily without reason, but the Blue Exorcist OST is still killer and the Seven Deadly Sins OST was actually pretty great. They both show he actually has some range, as well as a few tracks on his more mediocre OSTs. Even his "typical" stuff can be good, in the right mood. I think he just gets hired to do rip offs of Unicorn. The first episode of Kabaneri was pretty lame, soundtrack-wise, but episode two had at least one good bit I heard, so we'll see how it goes.
