Its difficult to run from it when "harem" is not any more a sub-genre of romcom but an element that its thrown into pretty much anything.

Personally I don't dislike harem sub-genre, some times you are in the mood for it, but I detest harem as element to throw into everything, the same way I don't have anything agaisnt Idols but I don't like how Idols are thrown into fucking everything despite fitting in it or not they just there. Or series about the manga industry, I also find those entertaining but find annoying that every series have to have some otaku character that provides nothing to the story except being otaku.
In other words I like strawberry icecream and I like steak but I don't like when someone puts strawberry icecream on my steak.
