It would be much better with well-animated planes (like tanks in gup), but the manga doesn't have much going for it except planes. Although GuP is like 90% video/audio...
I'd rather have same well-animated planes on a new IP. As long as it's not national-themed schools again. Preferably not written by Takaaki (no offense to the guy, but it seems he's starting he just monopolized /ak/ anime).
I do believe that Maki will get an anime though.

There's a record of a N1K2 pilot fighting 10 F6F's with 4 confirmed shot down before the rest retreated.
That plane was a real unpleasant surprise to the allies and they were lucky most of them were kept for defense of the home islands.

I just want Japan to make more aviation shows in general, doesn't have to have cute girls. Area 88, Sky Crawlers, The Cockpit, Yukikaze, and Rescue Wings are all that comes to mind. If anyone knows any more cool shows worth checking out I'm all ears.

GuP's game for the Vita got mixed reviews. Don't have a Vita, but the gameplays I've seen online seem not to suck.
GuP also got an unoficial ero-wargame, too. But it was lackluster. In both wargaming and ero parts.
