You know it wouldn't be that bad if the author didn't stop killing everyone off for shock value which got repetitive fast and losing the humour would be even better, definitely the worst part of the series and could've done without. I think he could've planned the series better since it feels more like an early draft rather than a completed version, especially since things like why the empire are so apparently crooked and evil and Night Raids quest to defeat them.
Less emphasis on Teigu action which should only have been used as a last resort and more assassination attempts like what they did with Captain Ogre would've been great too.

Honestly, AgK’s cast is beyond terrible (I’m talking about the manga now, I haven’t watched the anime, though I don’t even care about it to be honest).
I mean:
Tatsumi – interesting powers, but generic and empty as all fucks,
Akame – earned some good points in the latest arc, but still mediocre at best,
Leone – zero-dimensional fanservice ’character’,
Bulat – Garness never gets old, though that is all, kinda plot deviceish,
Sheele – kekfodder
Lubbock – had quite a few good moments, but this butt monkey side of his doesn’t really help. Still the most tolerable NR member after--
Mine – okay haters, don’t kill me, but her function and her role in this story has always been on top, though I dislike her allpink design.
Najenda – Literally the worst character ever.
Chelsea – some interesting features, but kinda fodderish overall,
Susanoo – What was the point of him again?
Esdeath – unquestionably better than most of the characters there, and had some potentials at first, but her character got tiresome as the story was progressing.
Dr. Stylish – yeah, no.
Run – interesting features and motivations, weak presentation.
Kurome – quite possibly the most well-written one. Interesting features, solid development, good relationships with the others.
Wave – the ’all words-zero action’ guy, though, he has more than one dimension in his character and did some significant things, just as manly ones, so he is all right. Let’s call him good.
Seryu – Had some potentials (not much), but a one-note villain overall with dumb and empty motivations.
Bols – another so-so one, but this ’family man’ thing was overused as fuck.
The rest is garbage, except Mez who… had a nice body. I guess.
