Part was was GOAT. Part 2 is hit or miss, but I do love how the characters have actual personalities in part 2. Part 1 had the best episodes. Part 2 has some really good episodes, but there are 155 of them so you're gonna see a lot of forgettable ones.

Green is without a doubt the best series. There are only 23 episodes but most of the episodes are the best in the entire franchise. episodes 11-23 are especially good. You'll love it although the first half of the series is a little darker than what you see in Blue Jacket series.
Red Jacket is the most popular Lupin series. There are 255 episodes so it's hit or miss. Still a lot of great episodes, but same with mediocre episodes. It's a lot more goofy and light hearted than Green Jacket
Pink Jacket is basically the same as Red but different artstyle which bothers some people. Can be really cartoony looking, it's not a big deal

To be fair, the first 2 volumes are cheap. you could most likely get both for about $20 maybe less. Some of the volumes are pretty expensive but can be sold pretty cheaply if you use ebay. I bought volume 3 a few months ago for 8 dollars in great condition without knowing what it goes for. Went on amazon and it goes for $40 minimum. The seller didnt know what he had.It also helps if you buy the books as a set instead of individually. It can be much cheaper that way.

Castle of Cagliostro has a Miyazaki feel since it was directed by him.
The later half of the original series was also directed by Miyazaki, but it doesn't really feel like his work.
Some are pretty mature like the manga, and A Woman Called Fujiko Mine spin off anime.
It's does have some style. The Pink Jacket it very cartoony, and A Woman Called Fujiko Mine has a Noir feel.

Miyazaki did not create Lupin, but he did contribute heavily to the franchise. I say his work on Lupin is perhaps the most different than all his other works in the best possible way. Unlike his other films, Lupin is an amazing character. Not only him but the supporting characters are very entertaining.

I personally love certain aspects of the show. art is fantastic, music is great, characters are interesting. my only gripes with it is I dont like that version of zenigata, and I feel Fujiko shouldnt of been the main focus. shes just not that interesting. I find the episodes that didnt have anything to do with the main plot to be the best episodes whereas the main plot was only okay at best. I find the whole owls conspiracy shit to be creepy and interesting, it just ended on a pretty weak note.
I still really enjoyed it and glad it exists, but it wouldnt be the 1st thing I'd tell people to watch.

It's less nobody does it right, and more nobody does anything but the same story for them. It's always the femme fatale with a soft-spot for the man. We've been trending the same ground with Fujiko for decades, but unlike Lupin's shenanigans, there's a lot less variety involved.
If we saw other dimensions of her character or even just new variations of how she cares about Lupin or interacts with his crew, I think she'd leave a more lasting impression.

i think its less moral related and more motive related her. She never seems to have any goals but what the plot demands her to. She has inklings of morality, particularly when shit gets real, but her goals? Sure as hell inconsistent about it (mainly what the script demands) but still it's there. Her motive though? "I want money" and its usually left at that. I think a great way to make more appealing would be to define a long term goal, and make her more helpful, but in a mysterious way that's left ambiguous it both helps her get what she's after and helps lupin, to his knowledge or not.

One of the posters who criticized elements of spike and or bebop was me. I was just being a Lupin fanboy, but i dont think it does deserve hate for showing love towards the Lupin franchise. I'm not the biggest Bebop fan, but I wont pretend on the importance it is to anime. If someone said It's the greatest anime of all time, i wouldnt really disagree.
