God, what an atrocious design. She was so legitimately creepy when she was all red eyes and sepia, but the instant you see her in full clarity it's all pink hair, cow tits and trashy outfits. Who thought that was a good idea? She was only scary when she was silent and semi hidden.

Masao did nothing wrong.He's a mentally ill teenager who got rejected by everyone but Tooru for something he couldn't control and forgotten by his family (who not only never bothered to ask him about his feelings or take him to the city to see a good psychiatrist, but also misinterpreted his symptoms (like being unable to feel the mood of a conversation, keep his emotions in check, pretend to like people he doesn't, speaking his mind at all times and having no imagination) as signs of him being a bad person and basically forgot he existed after his death). He lost the girl he liked and his best friend, died a horrible death completely alone, got resurrected as a monster who now has to feed on humans, yet he never could bring himself to kill someone, so he became a bullied outcast all over again, with the girl he liked being the most horrible towards him. Yet, after all goes to shit, he's the one trying his best to protect her, trying not to lose hope - she rejects his help and dies again, leaving him alone. Then he is brutally killed by his own family, while listening to his sister-in-law (whom he disliked, but was always honest about it) admitting she pretended to be nice to him, but in reality, she hated his guts. Masao's story is the true tragedy of Shiki.
