I am not a big fan of animes but I just watched GitS and the quality really blew me away and I saw there was an anime about it.

Innoence is meh but you really should watch SAC. It's much much better than Arise. The two seasons are largely self contained, so you could start just by grabbing the first season and downloading 2nd GIG later.
