I don't think it's right to call it a gag manga when it probably derives most of its appeal from what I described.
For example I feel confident that it will never try to be very funny. It will never be too funny, like say Ping Pong Club or 2x2 = shinobuden or pyuu to fuku jaguar or angel densetsu.
Those are manga that deserve to wear the title "gag manga" whole heartedly and with pride.
Of course I've never read it but I know that I'm probably right. I have about a 4/5 chance of being right just from the materials that I have seen here.
