Think of a show you really hate. Name one thing you liked in it.
Pic related. I thought the ending to the arc was actually very touching. Kirito wakes up in his malnourished body and the only thing he can think about is getting back to Asuna as he tries to limp his way out of the hospital while the ED plays.
The only well-written part about their relationship.
This scene was insulting. I've seen people after waking up from a coma. No amount of willpower will let you move after two straight years of muscle atrophy.
nice thinly veiled recommendation thread

This plus literally no staff working in the hospital.
>>140196055
>>140196149
SAO is "near future." It was a "near future hospital." Their beds were specially made to at least siphon off waste, which is why there weren't many people walking the halls in the video game coma ward. I think they also massaged the limbs or some shit to lower the atrophy rate? I dunno.
>>140196149
A nurse working in this hospital/floor would never suspect a 2-year coma patient to suddenly wake up and start walking. At best, they would be at the nurses station or break room just chilling.spoken by a nurse
>>140196468
massage the limbs aka Passive range of motion. If they had attentive Physical Therapists then that's what they would've done.
The entire thing was awful, but the conclusion had some realistic parts where it wasn't just MC-Armor. Plus the artists have decent taste.

But this is Kirito-sama, anon. This kid can fight off a grown man with a knife two months after he woke up. Walking is nothing to him.

From what I remember a lot of the cast died.
>>140196532
It looks like daytime in that scene. You're telling me no one is walking the halls during day shift? Patients, doctors, visitors?
>>140196739
Lots of terminal care wards are depressingly empty for days.
>>140196739
A hospital entirely filled with comatose patients, with magic beds that siphon waste and massage limbs. For two years with no activity.
Yeah its a probability.

Not the person you quoted. I just googled it and copied and pasted this.
In Episode 13 (given you watched the entire anime series), when Kirito and Asuna were alone in the KoB Headquarters, Asuna mentioned "what was happening to their real bodies." Kirito then explained that people were disconnected from the game for several a couple of hours, and during that time, the SAO victims were being transported to hospitals.
In the Light Novel (Volume 1), this was explained by Kayaba in the «Tutorial», that all of the players would be taken care of, and that their real bodies would shortly be transported to hospitals."
>>140196966
>no one walking the halls in one scene
>lol no staff whatsoever
I mean okay. There's more things SAO to get in a huff about than this.
>>140196966
Machine would detect a flatlining patient and page a doctor to call time of death. Afterwards it would simply be a process of wheeling the corpse to the hospital mortuary to be disposed of.

That's not what he asked, though. On the other hand it's logical to have wards full of comatose people.

I don't understand why you don't think the future has EKG machines. It's simple in that it detects and monitors the patients pulse. No pulse? Inform attendant. Can't resuscitate? Patient is dead.
Haruchika. Dropped 2 episodes in but Chika a cute.
>>140197268
Of course they exist. Why would that machine check for death but not also detect patients waking up? An attendant would have to see to either case immediately.
this shit is awful

Squealer is a cool character, and that opening scene is awesome.
The machines he was connected to should have emitted an alert when he disconnected from them and some nurse or doctor, even on a break, would have gone immediately to check on him (thinking he was dying). Even if SAO players died like flies that doesn't mean doctors don't have to try to save them even if the chances are slim.
Said this, I don't thinks this is THAT important (the series does far worse), he was probably stopped by a late-arriving nurse/doctor second later, too.

It always amuses me how much shit SAO gets for Kirito shambling down a hallway clinging to a support for a few minutes before nurses see him and put him back in his room. Meanwhile .hack//Sign ends with Tsukasa strolling out of the hospital right after a 6 month coma none the worse for it, and no one bats an eye.
>>140196739
You haven't been to a hospital all that recently, have you? The hallways where patient rooms are located are usually fairly empty. The patients are in their rooms. Their families are either in their rooms or in designated waiting areas. Nurses are either at the nurse's station where they can monitor all patients, be ready to respond if a patient calls for them, and generally get work done; or they're in a room checking in on a patient. Occasionally there will be someone going to or from a room, or someone being wheeled to or from a room, but 90% of the time when you look down a hospital hallway for patient rooms, it'll be empty.
>>140197440
>>140197602
Logically the hospital likely would have held dozens of SAO patients. All of which would have woken up minutes before Kirito. There's no reason they would have enough staff on hand to have one nurse and/or doctor per patient, much less have them all there when all the players unexpectedly woke up. On more player messing with their monitors would not

Meta wise, it's a fucking brilliant escape tool by the author to escape from whatever bullshit Inaho has pulled in the show by removing him from the show altogether.
