Not Kaku, but the series as a whole needs a remake by Madhouse or Ufotable. With the PS2 only arcs having standalone OVAs as they are some of Higurashi's best in my opinion. Higurashi does not need the fucking Live-Action TV series that's gonna air soon.

Unless they announce a remake at the end of the Live-Action TV Series
