Mine's Thou Shalt Not Die, written by Yoko Taro, creator of Drakengard and Nier. It's a seinen with the dark fantasy feel he's well known for, but instead of being more unrealistic fantasy, its setting is a semi-futuristic battlefield with experimental psychic soldiers used in war against normal soldiers.
I get some people might see Kuroi as kind of edgy, but he's hard to get a good understanding of who he is from any single action. If you like Yoko Taro's works, give it a try, can't guarantee it's for everyone.

Reminder that Drakengard's party included a sociopath, a child-eating elf, a pedophile, and a bald guy. Yoko Taro's stuff is the edge incarnate but his work is still enjoyable because at some point, you stop taking it seriously and enjoy how ludicrous it is.
