I'm not sure if I just didn't explain it clearly enough or you're reading it wrong, but the guy doesn't have super strength and isn't throwing them. He has super speed, but not super reflexes. He fights by holding a brick up to his chest, running forward, then stopping. The brick then goes flying out of his arms towards his enemy.
Bullets would work better than I knife with this system I'm sure, but still not as well as a brick. As for why he didn't try other stuff, I don't know I didn't write the mangaand the guy dies after less than 1 fight so it wasn't really explored too deeply

But this power is pretty poorly thought out, since if you don't heal upon coming back to life, your body should eventually reach a point where it's no longer capable of even being alive because it's broken down to non-biological components. You wouldn't truly be immortal then.
