I hate this shit in virtual reality settings. it seems like an excuse to overpower special antagonists or main characters. I guess Blue Eyes and Dark Magician won't be fighting with their signature 2500 vs 3000 attack points. That explains why Yugi's dueling Ritual Yuya without the VR looking thing and why he's still using his deck but using the VR thing vs Kaiba.Probably some symbolic shit like "Even through I can just imagine them, I'd rather fight with my cards in my hand because they've always been close to me" thing.
