Let's say that you spoke Japanese, and decided to watch every show ever made up to April 12th, 2016. Could you realistically finish your goal?

Watching 10 to 11 hours a day you can finish a 26 episode show every day, so if you keep that up for a couple of years you've pretty much seen the bulk of everything out there.

Anidb has 160695 episodes listed. Given lots of pseudo-episodes (pv, op, ed etc) and shorts we can assume 10 minutes per episode, that means 26783 hours or 1116 days or almost exactly 3 years of non-stop anime. 9 years of watching anime 8 hours per day every day. That's actually fucking nothing.

Maybe you want to start with this season and then watch every other season in a descending order. Exception for prequels (you don't watch xxx2 before xxx).
