As someone who lived in Okinawa for most of my high school, no. They really like the cool Mexican stuff like bandannas and wrestling masks. They're kind of laidback with this surfer-like vibe, so I guess in that sense they are bumpkin like. The people that just stay on the island with no direction just like to bask in the sun.
