Fuck everyone who thinks that expositions, speeches, strategy meetings, philosophical disputes and other bullshit in the middle of the battle are a good idea.
This also includes cheap animation - 5 seconds long scenes of character yelling with speedlines, slow-mo dragged forever, sluggish attacks, poor effects.
Underwhelming battles are like fapservice with obnoxious censorship - what's the fucking point.

I know suspension of disbelief is a thing but it can only go so far

The fact that nips seem to consider a character explaining a situation = comedy
>{character B eats Character A's food}
>character A: "character C, you ate my food!"
>character C: "no i didn't! tell them, character B"
>character B: "character c did eat your food - they even ate mine"
>character C: (either inner monologue or openly) "you've made the situation worse!"
A shit example, but it highlights my point. The ending explanation of why the scenario could be considered "funny" just strips all merit it had in my opinion. It's like the writers need to take you by the hand and point out to you every "joke".
Also, comedic timing is a concept that doesn't seem to exist in japan.
