Not to mention in chapter 304 Pitou doesn't simply tell Gon "we ate his brain lol" but instead she explains that she couldn't revive the dead, and that Kite's soul is gone. Logically this implies that she had kept Kite in one piece for her selfish desire to relive their fight, immediately violating the idea that an ant (especially a royal guard) would focus all effort on feeding the Queen to nourish the King. So that was an oversight on Pitou's part.
And I think Meruem only said he had one good meal while incubating, which was Pokkle, but maybe the Japanese script says otherwise, I wouldn't know.

A couple scars don't imply anything specific considering he was used as a training dummy, and while I'm not comfortable with bringing up the specifics of Togashi's spotty art, Kite's scars didn't seem like wounds of an opened cranium. Plus if his skull was cut open he wouldn't have most of his hair, which seemed untouched when we later see his corpse.
That's a fair point but the very idea that Pitou would have already withheld a potential meal from the Queen sets the precedent that she might not always act as logically as we expect. I mean, we even see Pitou messing around with some equipment in chapter 204, after presumably "reviving" Kite in 200, so for all we know she was continuously attempting to heal kite or something. Her actions were unpredictable at the time and we weren't given enough information later to know what was going on.
Fan translation seem to stress that it was just one meal, but the Viz translation does say "occasionally". Not that the viz translator is some kind of authority on the japanese language, though. But I think I will try to search up the raws and see what was said there, that would probably settle the matter.
