Emitsu also voices for eroge, that's not the problem. It's got more to do with her her lying about it and the damage control they're doing, plus idol culture is completely different from the way mangaka and writers are treated. If it had been known before she voiced Honk that she was in a JAV I really doubt anyone would care, although she may not have gotten the role at all if she discoled that.

The expectations are there because they're supposed to be good role models in general. Whether or not otakus are the main source of income the idea of an "idol" is one that everyone can look up to and respect. Being a porn star is typically not something people look up to and respect, nor should it be.
Simply put if you don't want your past actions to have an impact on you, don't go into idol business. The idol business is in the business of selling girls who seem like ideal people, albeit toward people of different tastes and ideas, but can universally be considered good citizens and people.

She did that well before she got into Love Live.
She was planning to become a singer, before she joined a Seiyu school upon someone's suggestions and even then she didn't expect to perform on stage.
We can't hold this against her for the simple fact no-one can predict how their career path will go.
Furthermore, I don't see any relevant of what she did in the past to the present. Yes, it may not have been ideal but that was done a long time ago and right now for the past 6 years she has been an amazing hard worker and singer.
