It was the most interesting first episode of any of the anime. The only one that came close was Macross Delta.
The pacing and animation were top notch. The main plot is interesting and I legitimately don't know where it's going to go.
It's got the most potential to crash and burn, but that's why it's "Potential" AOTS.

I thought the pacing was really good and the OST fit great. Plus, the mandrake and chinatsu scenes were hilarious. It was put together really well. There are usually boring scenes in these kinds of SoL anime but I was entertained for the entire episode.
All they have to do is keep doing what they're doing and they'll end up with a fantastic SoL.
I like Bakuon but I've already read the manga. If this was the first time I'd seen it I would probably keep up with it.

Congratulations, you've finally begun to really enjoy watching anime! I'll never understand why some people like to use their "high standards" as an excuse to only pick up two shows in a season, since even if you pick up something around 35 shows for example that's just a little under two hours every day that you'll spend on your hobby. Having varied tastes and enjoying a bit of everything feels great, "standards" don't mean shit, and no I'm not doing this to inflate my watched lists as I usually end up dropping around 5 shows every season. I've also been doing this for a few years and my addiction only got worse with time, so I don't think I'm in any risk of burning out any time soon either.

Where do you guys like to go to watch new shows? Do you ever bother streaming or do you simply torrent everything?
Hulu is awful, even with adblock and anti-adblock killer it still has those horrible 30-second and 60-second pauses. Crunchyroll isn't bad but their selection sucks at time.
Most of the other sites to stream from have awful quality, or they're slow as balls and frustrating to use. They also have ungodly amounts of garbage in the page though adblocks and script killers help prevent that from being an issue.

There's a LOT of shows I've wanted to watch that they don't have. Devil is a part timer, Tokyo Ghoul, Assassination Classroom, Space Dandy just off the very top of my head.
I end up going to Hulu just because I prefer streaming to torrenting (Though Hulu is awful enough I plan to check out the tool in the OP instead) for many shows.
I really wish there were better streaming options.

That 'wow' factor provided by entry level stuff is generated by 2-3 shows a year now. If I had to stay picky as I used to be I should watch maybe 10-15 shows each year. Now it's just a habit and mindless consumption. It doesn't stop me from dropping new shows after episode or two, hell. sometimes even midway when certain level of anger is reached.almost 10 years / over 400 tv shows

That's impossible, because every 3 months 40 or so new shows come out. Even if you insist that "the industry is dying" or whatever excuse people use now, with 120 shows per year at least a few of them are bound to be objectively good.

I've been watching nearly everything in a season for about 8 years already and I'm still enjoying doing it, maybe even more than when I started out - there's so much variety in content that it's impossible to get bored. I can see how this doesn't appeal to everyone, but given the extremely low amount of time you need to dedicate to this hobby (hell, remember that each full-sized episode is only 24 minutes long and that's counting OPs and EDs) I can't understand why people are so averse to this idea. "But I have standards" is a terrible excuse that doesn't mean anything.
