I experienced JoJo for the first time after reading this one comic, I forget the name. But it had Stands, cool fights and all that shit, and I was excited. So I showed my friend (who was a weeb at the time, he's since moved on to being a huge faggot who thinks protesting against zoos is a job) and he just started calling it a shitty ripoff. So he showed me JoJo, and I gotta admit, it didn't seem too good at first. Phantom Blood seemed nothing like that comic, and it was very dramatic. Good, but not what I expected. But when I got to Battle Tendency, I fucking fell in love with the manga. It was amazing. So I blitz'd through the entire thing, and I've been reading ever since. It's been great.
Also, turns out the comic was a complete ripoff of a Part 3 battle, so I guess my shit friend was right once.

In 2005, a friend of mine had a copy of that VA PS2 game. He showed me some of it and explained what JoJo was basically about.
Took me until about 2009 to actually get around to reading, though.
I remember when I got to VA, I could sorta remember all the stuff he told me about the stands, and I sorta felt a little underwhelmed by the fights due to that, but I think all in all, it was still worth it.

Heritage to the Future for PSX. The local comic providers also started translating the manga in a language I can read around that time.Actually it was much earlier when I was just 8. Couldn't get myself to get pass the sacrificial ritual at the start of the part 1

I knew Jojo from memes and possibly a streamer.
I started reading Jojo I think sometime after I
watched all of the anime and that was when Jojo
became not a meme to me, but a golden
experience. I read through all the parts in the
summer (even part 5) and stopped at the
beginning of JoJolion. It was a month earlier that
I started to read JoJolion and liked it a lot now,
anxiously waiting for the next chapters to come
and now waiting for the anime adaptation until
PHF OVA, and then watch some more until
I am finished with Jojo. But until then let's make
the good times last.

The face on his forehead lets him see 10 seconds into the future. He can erase up to 10 seconds of time if he sees something he doesn't like. During erased time, everyone else has to do exactly what the face on his forehead predicted except for him, so he can run away or get into a good position to attack (he can't interact with others during erased time because it would alter what was predicted). After the erase is complete, everyone except him will have seemingly teleported from where they were at the beginning to where they were at the end with no memory of the in between. During this confusion is when he launches his attacks.
It's one of the more complex powers in the series but powers in JJBA aren't TOO complicated compared to other series.

I don't like parts 1 or 3, honestly.
Both have their enjoyable parts, namely Dio obviously, but they play the shounen way too straight and don't have enough fun with it.
Everything after, even when it wasn't great, at least felt more self aware.
