One of my favourite movies of all time. It is fantastic. Only bad thing is the very ending, felt pretty out of place and anticlimatic. A lot of ghibli movies have this problem I have found. There are different problems for each of them, but the main issue is how preachy they are. Pacing is shitty too however, It wasnt by Miyazaki, but Princess Kaguya was shit for the pacing. It probably had some shitty ghibli morality imposed, but I dont remember it, did her father try gto get her to marry in the novel? I remember her beauty attracting suitors, but never her being pushed to marry and improve family standing.
It was also shit because of how they didnt just stick to the fucking source. No, it needed some love conflict, even though Kaguya never wanted to marry anyone.
It's funny how I much prefer Zun's spin on Kaguya to a professional studios.
