I've also started watching the series this week. I'm currently watching the third stage movie.
So far, it's been great. The Eurobeat definitely hypes the races to the max. My favorites so far have been the Nakazato and Sayuki races.
One thing I like about initial D is that there are no sore losers. Even the most douche racers accept their defeat like a man.

I'm asking since I'm currently watching this and would like to know if I should watch them after the final stage. I'm on stage 4 and it's so far nothing too exciting. I feel like the Eurobeat quantity has significantly decreased. I'm probably just biased, but it also pisses me off how irrelevant Keisuke is. I was looking forward to seeing him race and develop after the team formed but it's just been Takumiwinslol for the first 6 episodes.Though the race with Tomoyuki was really enjoyable. Mine is an auto, both the manual and auto version of the T5 have around 230HP (its usually 228 or 229), the newer versions of the T5 (post facelift) have 240hp
They are fun in the straights, because they are so fucking heavy, they understeer a lot on tight turning, but since the steering is so boosted due to the hydro electric wheel, you can just point at where yo want to go and use those 230hp to pull you out of a bad turn
