of all of these, the best "anime" is probably Chrome Shelled Regios. If only because it's the least painfully generic and the author TRIED to build a deep scifi setting to the world.
The most fun anime on this list was easily colorwars. Thankfully it forgoes the whole "school tournament" concept, and just focuses on crazy over the top harem antics and badass MC stuff.
The "ultimate" school battle harem (as in most representative of the genre, without sucking so badly you want to pop out your eyes and bleach your brain) is probably IS. It's generic but watchable. It probably helps that is was one of the first of these to air.
The least deserving to be on this list is Zero no Tsukaima. Technically, yes, it's a school battle harem, but in reality the story had little to do with the school other then a place for the MC to live. They could have changed the location to a military barracks and would have done little to the plot of the story.
The MOST school battle harem (in every way this word means, MOST, including amusingly "watchable") has to be Mahouka. Between the comically overpowered MC, overpowered SC, superpowered brocon, superpowered siscon, massive list of girls in harem who fit every fetish, bombastic plot, has an over the top school tournament arc, and such a trainwreck it's actually funny.

Chivalry of a Failed Knight- The only anime on this list with a main guy and main girl hooking up, subverting the very idea of a harem. In fact there IS no harem in this anime, despite the "battle harem" similarities, this one has a very lopsided love triangle that turns straight romance by ep 4.
As a result I contend its the one anime on this shit list that truly doesn't deserve to be on the list. as it is NOT a harem.
