>>139601243
>no LOGH
anno confirmed for pleb
>>139601243
Pretty good taste, too bad Aim at Ace & Legendary Giant IDEON ripoffs are both shit.
I thought he loved Patlabor.
>>139601482
But they inspired Gunbuster and Evangelion....
ive never seen em tho. too old school for me.
>>139601243
Well, you're taking a top ten from a 1991 article, of course there are only old shows
>>139601540
Gunbuster and Evangelion are shit by comparison
>3. Gundam–Char’s Counterattack (1988, movie)
But the only good thing to come out of that was the Nu and that scene wherethe Jegan reaches for the Doga's hand
>>139601243
>Tom and Jerry
Nice!
>>139601673
No they are not.
>>139601243
>2. Mobile Suit Gundam (1979, TV)
>3. Gundam–Char’s Counterattack (1988, movie)
>4. Legendary Giant IDEON (1980, TV & movie)
>>139604348
As expected from the most important still alive man in anime.
>>139601349
>lmaaaooo this
Lurk more.
>>139604490
Junichi Sato is more important than Anno. Especially since he worked on Eva as well.
Basically, Junichi Sato brought character development and good scene development to a show that would have otherwise just been 'cool mechas and Christian Symbols'.
>>139601243
>8. Aim at Ace
yes anno, we know
>>139601243
Gee. I wonder why Anno is so obsessed with mecha...
>>139601243
>9. Tom & Jerry
Any other great western anime?
>>139605206
ed edd n eddy
>>139601403
>>139601511
It's from 1991, those series weren't finished yet.
>>139604490
Nagai is still alive.
>>139605206
wacky races
>>139601243
I wonder what post-2000's stuff he'd put on the list
>>139605206
Cory in the house
>>139605429
Probably, Penguindrum.
>>139602565
>dat grain
Looks comfy, desu
>>139602565
Tom and Jerry has really nice animation.
>>139605429
Probably nothing. He'd only included one thing from the past decade on this list, his grumpiness was setting in already. He'd probably shit on 2199 for some vague reasons.
>>139605429
Kill La Kill
>>139605611
Maybe he just didn't watch as much by then. He was already a working man.
>>139605429
He said he really loved Madoka
>>139601243
>9. Tom & Jerry (1944)
>>139605429
I'd be really interested in that as well. Similar to >>139607199 I once read that he liked Madoka and especially how they managed to transfer it into movie format.
Assuming the sequel theory is real and that Kaworu might be a looper, I wonder if he got inspired.
>>139605611
>He'd probably shit on 2199 for some vague reasons.
He directed the OP for 2199, but who knows he's a grumpy old bastard.
>>139607199
I thought that was Tomino?
>>139609676
I just hope he doesn't get inspiration from Rebellion then.
>>139601243
where's boku no pico
I'm surprised there's no Xabungle.
>>139609676
Kaworu was introduced as a looper before Madoka even aired, but I did hear from somewhere that the reason Kaworu wears a purple shirt in 3.0 instead of his orange one from NGE is a reference to Homura.
>>139601243
Future Boy Conan was really good.
>>139601243
Zetafags assblasted
>>139602565
Tom & Jerry got the BD treatment? This image looks amazing.
>>139605587
The shorts are some of the best things produced in the history of animation, but the TV series starting from the 60's are bland as fuck.
>>139613267
>The shorts are some of the best things produced in the history of animation
Not really. Even the 1940s shorts were outdone by other Warner Bros works. Let alone stuff over the last 80 years.
>>139605206
The Fleischer Superman short films from the 1940s
>>139614016
This is wrong.
>>139616550
>This is wrong.
I agree. Your post is wrong and you should feel bad for posting it.
>Hanna Barbera cartoons
man, i never could find any sort of amusement from that stuff
Tom and Jerry just shit all over all that stuff, Flinstones, Yogi Bear, that kind of crap.
>>139605206
The Batman cartoon movies, Samurai Jack, and the original Avatar.
>Akage no An
Nice. Though I really should finish it one day
>>139616754
Probably because every single one of their works besides Tom and Jerry and Scooby Doo are rip offs of something else. Flinstones is the Honeymooners in the stone age. The Jetsons is Life With Father in the 'future'. Tomcat is Sgt. Bilko. Josie and the Pussycats is trying to cash in on the band fad. Etc.
That and some of the worst animation in the history of animation. Instead of making 50 shitty shows, they should have focused on 2-3 good ones. And improved the perception of animation. Instead, they are the single biggest contributor of why people think animation is childish and inferior.
>>139601243
Okay, not a big deal, but I'll bite anyway.
What's the significance between 1944 and Tom & Jerry? The series started in 1940, unless he's talking about the first Japanese release date, but how would anybody even fucking know that? I doubt Anno was talking about a specific short from 1944 either. Is this his fault or the fault of the people compiling/fact-checking the list?
>>139601243
Reminder that Tom did nothing wrong and Jerry is a prick
>>139605206
Pinocchio
>>139605429
Aku no Hana
>>139619554
Don't need reminding.
