Shit was dragged out needlessly, Satoru stoping Sensei and falling into a koma was the clear climax of the series and also the reason for the title. If was better to end it quickly after that.

I gotta admit, I thought the fact that in the anime sensei just stopped killing people after Satoru fell into a coma was a little nonsense. Maybe I just don't get his motivations, but Satoru only "won" in that he caught onto Sensei and slowed him down a little. He could have totally sunk Satoru in the lake and just went on his merry way killing whoever and I bet he would have got out scot free, so I didn't really get why he didn't. Self preservation? He did mention the statute of limitations in the final episode.

He said he just lost the urge to kill. He only got it back for a moment after he met Satoru again. Guess this loss was one of the reasons why he was kind of pissed at first and wanted to kill Satoru while he was comatose but then he couldn't actually do it in the end and rather just kept watched over him.
The story would be much better if Sensei married Satoru's mum after he becomes comatose. And to make it EVEN BETTER Sachiko gives birth to Gaku's child some years later.
Just imagine the drama.

I thought that was just a compulsive case of him trying to outwit Satoru no matter the cost. Also his name was on the suspect list so he wasn't as free as he pretended to keep killing.
Moreover, I think he wanted to beat Satoru outright. Sinking Satoru wouldn't give him the satisfaction or information about the future.

Who else could have been the murder? There was no other suspect, no red herring, which made me believe that Yashiro didn't do it for a brief time.
Was it supposed to be obvious that he was the killer at the begging of the show? I didn't connect the dots until 4 episodes to the end.

The manga was less obvious while the anime outright told it in the OP and the end of episode 2. I think it works quite well if someone reads the manga first and in one go and watches the anime after that. The anime end felt more satisfying to me anyway, considering that basically everyone got his happy end and people weren't killed anymore. Wish it would have had more Kumi scenes though but the time was too short.
