Looks like Blame! is getting a reprint.
Vol.01 is up on Amazon for a Sept.13 release date.
Probably to compliment the Anime.

Wasn't the reprint butchered with a severe lack of detail when compared to the original?

It was originally published 1998 to 2003 and then reprinted 2005 to 2007 by TokyoPop, which I believe did have some quality loss.
Hopefully this new one is back to the point.

I need more quality Cibo in my life.

The new One's through Vertical Comics.
Same people who brought MSG:Origin to the West in Hardback.
So should be decent.

No. It had issues with the printing (few burns, inconsistent sizing, THE FUCKING BOX PAGE), but it didn't really have any quality loss. Which is surprising, given how old the pages are. Same goes for the Abara reprint.

Also, you said "compared to the original". What original? The shitty old French scans we have? Or these?

I think he meant the Kodansha (1998 to 2003) vs. TokyoPop (2005 to 2007) releases.
In which case most of the complaints were the Text Translations Font, and loss of quality for the cheaper Print.

New ones are "Master's Editions", which have also re-released in Japan.

If you read my post, yes. Honestly, I don't believe it was deliberate. I think they lost the original *digital* file that had the box added (it's pretty clearly CG), and were too fucking lazy or afraid to try to recreate it, so they just used the original physical page which didn't have a box drawn in it. Then Nihei redrew half that physical page for no reason, without fixing the box. His editors probably didn't mention it or say anything in hopes that he forgot about it, which he did. The alternative is that *most* of this page was done with CG that they subsequently lost, which is a bizarre thing to think about, but quite possible.

It's weird, though - one of the final pages from the last log is verifiably primarily CG or somesuch, yet they managed to have that one in pristine condition. I'll post that next.

Blame! deserves a non-cgi anime adaptation. Preferably a high budget feature film.

They're not called Master's Editions in Japan. It's literally just "New Edition". The 'Masters' thing is an American concept used to trick idiots into buying shit at higher prices.

Anyway, this is the other page I was talking about. This is the original *drawing* for this page, which was then heavily manipulated or something.

It then became this, which *is* in the reprint. I kinda like the original more, but that's life.

These look nice.

I kinda want Nihei to try redrawing one chapter from scratch now that he can draw humanoids. Just to see what it looks like.
>>
>>139519203
What the fuck. $30?? That sounds a bit too expensive.
>>
>>139522629
It is a manga from 98. I don't think that's too expensive.
>>
>>139522629
It's 3 combined volumes.
>>
>>139522959
It's not. There's 6 total volumes in the new edition, and 10 originally.
