How bad was Eureka Seven AO in a scale from 0 to 10?
>>
It was everything wrong with Eureka 7 combined with nothing right from Eureka 7
>>
>>139517697
I don't know if I can say it was bad, but it was definitely an 8 in terms of disappointment.
>>
it was a solid 2/10
>good music
>pretty
>>
>>139517697
Eureka Seven had the best music. I put that shit on an mp3 player back in highschool.

I dropped AO right around brown girl started to walk again.

This. The story is COMPLETE shit and a disappointment, it could've never happened and it wouldn't matter in-universe.
I remember we all suffered posting here when it aired, it was awful.

Bad/10
>>
The only memorable thing about AO were the two girls in their slutty cowboy outfits.
>>
It made me so sad after watching 5 episodes and realizing this it was nothing like eureka seven. On a side note has anyone seen rainbow, is it any good
>>
It took everything that was awful about the original series and the movie and combined them into a series. To stretch it out since that wasn't enough to fill a series, they also took everything that was good about the original series and shat on it.
>>
>>139518472
>On a side note has anyone seen rainbow, is it any good

The plot is even worse than AO.
>>
>>139517697
Well it was whatever but it had one line which stuck with me, wherever you are, you will always be under the same sun and the same moon
>>
>>139517697
I'd give it a solid 7
>>
>>139517697
11/10 levels of bad.

-2 because Ao killed himself at the end, bringing it down to a 9/10 on the shitfactor scale.
>>
>>139517697
bones originals are all dreadful

>eureka ao
>xamd
>concrete revolutio
>heroman

JUST
>>
>>139519197

Wait, wasn't AO's world another universe? So it's not right there.
>>
>>139519319
It was the black chick who said it, it is also my understanding that the planet renton and friends are from is earth thousands of years into the future or some shit, its been a while
>>
>>139519268
>heroman

That was based on a manga actually. The anime came later and made a couple of changes.
>>
>>139519468
The manga was promotion material for the anime, not the actual source.
>>
>>139519389
No, Renton and Eureka were from a parallel universe. Renton sent Eureka to a parallel universe to give birth to Ao after their first kid ended up turning to stone as soon as it was born.

The last scene of AO was when Ao was sitting in Nirvash, who was floating in earth's orbit as it traveled between universes. Ao decides "Fuck it, this one's close enough!" and jumps out of Nirvash. However the earth he chose wasn't the one he left, it was one that never had the Scub so all of his friends were never a part of that organization, no one knew him, and there were no scub waves for him to ride. So if you think about it, he literally jumped to his death because he was reentering the earth's atmosphere with nothing but a wave board, and the board wouldn't have worked even if he survived reentry because no scub = no waves = hitting the ocean at terminal velocity = dead.

The fact that he killed himself was the only redeeming quality of the show.

I like Concrete Revolutio.
>>
>>139519595
A parallel universe with earth in it or at least a planet with life and one moon, kinda like earth
>>
>>139519696
I do too. It's probably going to go to shit in this second half but the first half was fun and the threads were great for discussion and speculation.
>>
>>139519595

The ending was happy going as fuck, I don't remember any death or anything, just Ao in Nirvash in space.
>>
Does anyone have an archive of that Anon's (I'm assuming) comics that make the AO a bit better?
>>
i remember shitty NTR
>>
>>139519705
It was earth. They showed all the girls living happy lives because scub never existed.

>>139519750
They didn't say he died, but they showed him floating in the remains of the nirvash in earth's orbit, and he jumps out with only his wave board after nirvash explicitly states "DUDE NO SCUB."

Remember, no Scub = no waves for the tech to work on. He literally jumped to his death.
>>
>>139519268
Someone brought up Un-Go when I mentioned that and it turned out pretty good.
>>
>>139518238
>The story is COMPLETE shit and a disappointment,
So it was just like the series.

Oh man, how much I truly hated this show snuck up on me.

I was on a high because it was another Eureka Seven, and that carried me all the way to the end of the the show. Throughout, I was constantly noticing all the moronic junk (extra otaku pandering, the fucking plot gun, Haru's horns just being hairpins, etc.), but I pushed it all to the back of my head because my dream of a Eureka Seven sequel had finally come true. It wouldn't be until a few months after the show ended that I was talking with some buddies of mine and this show came up, and I realized how absolutely fuckingly stupidly lazy the plot gun was, and all that stuff I had pushed to the back of my head surged forward.

While I don't regret watching the son of a bitch, I do wish Eureka Seven could get a good sequel. All those feelings from 14-year-old me looking at the last DVD cover for the series on Amazon JP (the one with what appears to be Eureka and Renton's kids holding hands as they prepare to surf) still exist in my heart. I should just accept that nothing is likely to never happen, but I can't let it go.

Oh, I can't believe I forgot to mention how worthless most of the characters are in the show. The folks behind it clearly want you (the viewer) to like Fleur and Elena. All Elena is is an otaku reference/bait machine until she reveals the fact that she murdered someone and assumed her identity and buried her body in their house's front yard and no one seems to fucking care about this; Fleur just brushes it off all like: "Well, I never asked about it 'cuz I thought I should give you space," and acts like her stupid friend being a MURDERER is no big deal.

And then there's Fleur, who absolutely has no personality, but the show's creators seem to think she does! I can't think of a single worthwhile thing she did in the whole show. Her only traits are that she likes Ao but plays the tsundere card.

It truly is a shame to think that something that had so many returning staff members from the first show could turn out this badly.
>>
>>139519750
Ao died is the new Sora/Haru killed themselves. Except without, you know, the incest.
>>
>>139520730

Fleur was the daughter of the director right? She was good with robots and liked Ao, but that's it.
>>
>>139520730
I recall Fleur hanging out and being competitive with Ao as the highlight of the show, how they gradually developed camaraderie. Ah, aside from the visual elements, like when the space kids showed up, or when the Gekko-go showed up, but those were just cliffhangers for cliffhangers' sake.
>>
The guys who like eureka7 so much is shit taste.
please don't blame me I just told you the truth.
