That site doesn't have much manga. Ripping books would require a different approach since it's almost all text.

I've been wondering, has anyone ever used InDesign for typesetting? Because technically speaking it is the ideal and best Adobe program when it comes to dealing with text and whatnot and it also provides the facility to work all of the pages of a chapter or even a volume on a single document.

I've never cleaned or typesetted so I imagine some of you might clean and typeset hand in hand but if someone happened to be a very good cleaner and do the entire process and then switch to InDesign I imagine it would be a very good and efficient tool. Not to mention you can used to hand in hand with Photoshop and edit shit that needs some more cleaning.

Well like like I said I haven't cleaned or typsetted before so I don't know how the process goes but the text tools is simply smoother and easier to work with in InDesign because it's not in layers like Photoshop as well as allowing you to have certain saved presets for different types of text (Like one for when someone is screaming with a different font and so on)

>Shiratori Tatsuhiko was a bum wandering the streets with no money to his name when he meets Mako. He works as a scout for an agency called Burst that recruits girls on the streets for adult entertainment in the Shinjuku area of Tokyo. Tatsuhiko quickly learns the techniques of scouting and is even more attracted to how much money he can make. But with how the industry is maintained, Tatsuhiko has to deal with the lying, deception, violence, greed and even the yakuza. He wants to keep the morals that he has, but it gets progressively harder and harder as he gets deeper into the other side of society.
>>

My initial post was asking to share the current tool after it has been blocked so that people without it can rip their accumulated things before they are forced to update to buy new things.

Sailor-fuku to Juusensha. This manga I love very much was dropped at 3 chapters almost 4 years ago. Now it's time to finish it.
That's all nice and dandy, but then I learned about another manga by the same author, translated 1 chapter and then I read 19 other chapters and realized I don't like it. Oh, well.

Can someone share the raws for the three volumes of fantasma?
>>
I know I may just be directed to the general, but I suppose most of the people who are able to translate have reached a proper level of Japanese profieciency.
How long did it take, and how intensely did you work on it?
>>
>>139539723
The general is full of people that are perpetually on beginning stage doing reps. It's blind leading the blind with the rare exceptions that show up every now and then.
There's two things you have to consider: Japanese and English. Understanding Japanese is one thing. It may take you 2 years, more or less depending how hard you practice and study every day. Understanding Japanese is actually not that hard once you immerse yourself in it. The worst part is memorizing all the kanji depending how good your memory is, which in turn will make it quicker or slower for you when reading something.
Then there's English. This is where most translators fail in my opinion. It seems everyone thinks it's acceptable to provide a literal barely readable translation and then let someone else re-word it, usually this person will not have access to the Japanese text or be able to read it and will do guesswork of what he thinks the translator meant. I couldn't disagree more with this way of thinking. The person who reads the Japanese text should be the same that transforms that text into something similar in English (or whatever language you're translating into).
To be a translator you need to be a good reader but also a good writer, so that you can convey the original intent of the author/mangaka to the best of your ability.
What I'm trying to say is that, if you want to be able to understand Japanese, then in maybe 2 years more or less (if you work everyday) you should be able to do so. But if your goal is to translate, then you should also improve your target language skills by reading proper literature books and exercising writing.

>>
>>139544543
Well, I could understand charging a little extra if someone wanted a ton of books since then I'd have to buy all of them, wait for them to download, reupload them, and all that. You also have to manually delete the last page in everything you buy now before uploading it since it's watermarked with your buyer ID.

>>139544679
Unless you're using a different ripper, reader links someone else bought wont work since it uses your account cookies. They'd have to send you their login information too.
>>
Cleaning and typesetting some shit raws takes so much time. I feel sorry for all the complaining on some series release speed I did before.
>>
>>139544730
>reader links someone else bought wont work since it uses your account cookies
Huh, I didn't know about that. Doubt people would want to share that then, since accounts have CC info on it and such.
>>
>>139545000
Yeah, that's why you'd need to have people actually send you the money and buy it yourself, which is a bit more trouble than I'd care to go through.
>>
>>139545000
I think its included in the hash that compromises the reading link. So if two people buy the same book they get different hashes.

So you yourself have to buy the actual volume to rip it.
>>
>>139545000
Actually there's no cc information on account. You have to re enter it every time you buy something.
>>
>>139545171

There's no way I'd give him even a cent from ripping something just because he has access to a tool.
I'd rather screen cap the whole thing or ask the anon in this thread who's doing it for free.
That dude from the Cake group is just abusing the fact that he can actually rip them to get some extra dosh (like the usual scanlator scum, there are more than enough stories of this already) even though they're already receiving donations.

Well, I'll try asking a friend of mine and make him write that script mentioned in my post, an if he does it, I'll be posting it here.

This confirms my theory. I didn't see any evidence of the stores getting the tool by monitoring jcafe and was thinking the anon that spread that rumor was raising false flags so that he would convince others to not share the tool. Now that no one shares it, he can show his true colors and do what he wanted to do from the start. Scamming. Clever I must say.
>>
>>139557021
The guy on jcafe doesn't have the secret tool either, he's using some Javascript he wrote himself to do essentially the same thing manually.
>>
>>139557142
According to him. Maybe he's saying that so that people in here don't get suspicious. Think about it for a minute. Is there any proof that BW or EBJ got their source from jcafe at all? Why are there so many posters talking about it in every thread? He spread fake rumors to make the tool unobtainable so that he could charge for its usage later. I bet he's Chinese, they're the kind that usually pull this crap.
>>
>>139540798
How did you do that?
>>
>>139557323
You're most certainly right.
The BW/EBJ tools worked for ages before they got blocked.

And there was an even older BW tool that was posted by some anon on /a/ which never made it to jcafe and that was blocked before the other, newer tool was posted there.
>>
>>139557323
That's very possible.
>>
>>139557323
>He spread fake rumors to make the tool unobtainable so that he could charge for its usage later.
The Javascript method is theoretically sound, but there'd be no reason to make it up if he already had the tool. He could just say he had the tool.
Also I know people in his group from outside jcafe, they definitely don't have the tool because they asked me to rip stuff for them before writing that script.
>>
>>139557531
Regardless if he did have the tool or wrote it himself, the point somewhat stands. Whoever spread the rumor that the stores were blocking the scripts because of these threads and jcafe was making shit up so that OMD anon would remove the tool. What the other anon said also applies >>139557463
In fact and thinking back now, those rumors appeared in these threads right after the Chinese secret club started tweaking with it. So it's possible that some Chink spread those rumors to make the original OMD anon close his source and let the Chinese and their affiliates be the only ones with it. I know it's conspiracy theory realm, but if they're the only ones with quick access to these kind of raws, they will be the first ones to release some manga and with better quality than the others, ensuring ad revenue boost. It's the same principle of getting physical raws before they hit the stores. Chinese are capable of all kinds of schemes to get adrev dibs.
>>
>>139557021
In fact, EBJ fixed their system for two weeks after the greasemonkey script was post on jcafe. It followed the same fate as the BW tool.
