It's the not too distant future, sometime after the initial outbreak of supernatural occurrences. Various malignant spirits, demons, and other unearthly creatures now roam free to do as they please, and the cracks are only widening as time progresses. Not everything is hostile, with some being almost human, but most are dangerous.
Miraculously, society hasn't fallen into total chaos despite how unprepared everyone was. There was a lot of trouble at the beginning as everyone panicked when everything was going to shit, but people figured out that most can still live mostly ordinary lives if their luck doesn't go bad. Things aren't exactly fine, as the things that can be and are done with magic are often horrifying paranoia fuel.
As expected in such a setting, various humans develop supernatural powers of their own, though there are risks to wielding it at higher levels. Higher level wielders are often nigh-indistinguishable from the worse cases of possession, with some arguing that there's no difference at all. People fear and distrust all magic-users, with good reason, but advanced ones are downright terrifying even to other magic types.
The story follows those in the supernatural business, whether they be bodyguards, smugglers, hunters, enforcers, exorcists, or government agents, as they do their part in protecting everything or helping it all fall apart.
Giant insects that are actually part of an alien threat attack Earth. In an army that includes guys in power armor with oversizedand sillyweapons, cute girls in flight armor, and guys who call in artillery strikes, air strikes, bombing runs, and drive tanks, armored vehicles, and every damn vehicle that the military has, our main character is just one of the guys with a rifle.
At first sight MC seems to be your ordinary, female high school student, but she actually suffers from a special kind of synesthesia.
She visualizes every sound as colorful patterns, turning her everyday life into surreal world. What appears to be a fun ability, leads to the discovery of something more grave.
Words which cause strong feelings can create beings which attach to humans, unnoticed by the addressee or the creator.
Phenomena we experience as broken heart, total emptiness or kick in the gut are caused by those beings, permanently clinging on their victims.
Most people manage to get rid of them on their own but there are some who fail and fall into despair and depression, eventually leading to suicide.
MC made it her business to deal with those beings by establishing a relationship with the victim and creating own beings with her words and feelings, fighting the bad ones.
However while she continues helping other people, she ignores that the biggest being clings on herself.
Main antagonist might be a girl with the same ability who creates those beings on purpose by seducing boys and breaking their hearts shortly after.

A boy falls in love with a girl.
Unable to confess, he is gifted with by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, the girl he was talking to was his cellphone. The MC realizes the deus ex machina gave him the ability to communicate with household objects, and pretty much every thing in his room has a harem SOL trope personality, and wants to fuck him.
While the MC slowly starts to lose his mind, not knowing if this is really happening, if he went insane, or if this is just some sort of prank, the actual human girl starts noticing he is acting strange, and feels a need to understand what happened to him. DRAMA ensues as the MC starts humoring the idea of actually falling in love with an inanimate object, while the girl tries to understand the bizarre NATURE of his LOVE.
