So I went back and rewatched Index S1 and 2 for the Kamikoto scenes and thought the pacing was really bad in both. Also Mikoto's voice was harder and less pleasing to the ear at first, she sounds much better in Railgun and the bridge scene in Railgun S was much better than the original version.
You can tell all the VAs improved and Arai most of all. She was pretty good to begin with but she really stepped up her crazy and it worked well.

Characters legit being in actual danger isn't a bad thing, but it could cause a shit storm if it were to end with an established character such as a Level 5 (particularly the two we met first) dying to a new character easily

I don't think kamachi will give her such a powerful ability. If I had to make a guess based on that item alone, I'd say its hypnosis.

This is why I don't really like it. It's interesting, makes sense, and could lead to some great fights but it means she can't fuck off or is yet another seriously OP character that gets killed off quickly. Not to mention she could cause butthurt.
Imagine if she killed a Level 5 with time stop. The "fuck this fucking bullshit" would be nearly unanimous no matter what Level 5 it was

People would be mad regardless of what long-known character gets killed. Kamachi isn't killing off any more characters people care about or have been around for longer than one volume. Just look at shiageluck, he hasn't even been relevant in NT yet he should have been destroyed by Rensa and his recklessness in NT12 would have gotten him killed if it was a real magic god.
If Salome is going to cause any anger, it'll probably be from a level 5 jobbing to her to make her look good if her power turns out to be something useful in combat.
