Then you dropped it around the time when they build the gate right? The past year was all about the Schutzstaffel fight and one Haschwalth fight. Disregarding the pacing three out of four fights were really good. Only one was mediocre. Though for some reason that one was japans favorite. Gerard's fight is not over yet, so we've to see what that will be like. Only problem is that the story itself didn't progress much besides Kubo dropping hints. But it should take at max five chapters to finish. After that should be Ichigo's confrontation with Yhwach and hopefully some explainations. That should either finish this arc or start the second half.

Sad as it is, I've been on /a/ over 10 years. People did predict this long ago, back when "learning the name of your Zanpakuto" was a requirement for achieving Shikai everyone thought that Yachiru was Zaraki's bankai and he wasn't using it properly because he 'gave' her a name.
Even if it's been predicted for a while I still don't like how Yachiru just shows up at the most convenient time and just hands him back his awesome so called unlocked bankai power.

I also have a bad taste in my mouth after the Zanpakuto turning into people filler-arc so I'm crusty about all this. Zangetsu and Zabimaru are the only well done sword-avatars and they're pretty much restricted to a subconscious-dream world.

What if this is Yhwach's plan, sending SRs in the direction he knows there will be the people that most likely will be able to take out the SR while at the same time getting themselves out of battle (Mayuri, Shunsui, Urahara/Grimmjow, Zaraki temporarily but most likely this one will be it).
He must have already seen that his special SR were going to be defeated. He knows that the most casualties the better for him, whichever side they come from.

If by hurting the opponent he gets hurt, then the perfect counter is indestructibility. I think Kenpachi would hate this power because he enjoys danger and being head-to-toes with his enemies so if that is the case he would only use his bankai when he's about to die. And if that is the case then he'll probably complain about it and Yachiru will tell him to grow the fuck up because this fight isn't about fun, it's about destroying the enemy and protecting Soul Society.

Man, none of this really makes up for the loss of Yamamoto or Unohana. I mean, Yamamoto barely did anything, but Unohana was the best medic they had. There's literally no one who could take her place other than Inoue, and she's not exactly a Shinigami so it's moot.

Ever since he was a kid, Kenpachi's subconsciously been placing mental limiters on himself. The fight against Ichigo was the weakest he'd ever been in the series proper. But every single time he gets into a tough fight where he nearly falls into the edge of death, he broke some of his mental barriers and regained some of his old strength.
Basically, when we first see him, Kenpachi had a shitload of negative modifiers to him. Every single fight henceforth, he lost some of those modifiers. When he fought Unohana, he lost a shitload of modifiers because she kept bringing him to the edge of death and healing him immediately after. It's kind of like what Saiyans have, when they're almost and come back stronger afterwards, only instead of receiving level-ups, Kenpachi's merely regaining the levels that he'd previously sealed away.

Problem is that the Soul King is most likely a prisoner and that he doesn't want to act as a lychpin. There are only two candidates: Aizen and Ichigo. Aizen would never allow himself to be trapped by the Shinigami and the Shinigami would never give Aizen complete control. Aizen most likely has a Keikaku to escape. Ichigo would be too clueless to prevent being imprisoned, unless Yhwach tells him the truth and what his fate will be. He most likely would rebel once he finds that out. Well Ichigo's base attack is still Getsuga.
He can use his large blade to amplify the attack of the smaller one and can channel both his Quincy and Hollow powers (not at the same time though) using just his shikai.
I think for his bankai he'll be able to utilize both powers in the same attack by joining the two Zangestus into one weapon, but who knows.
