About the early episodes, they clearly had 2 animation studios, the 'A' team and the 'B' team.
They had to hire the 'B' team when the 'A' team couldn't animate the episodes on schedule. As a result, we got a bunch of weird looking episodes were Conan looks like the pic you posted.
BUT
Japs complained about it, so the 'B' studio had to step it up. They really had to animate their next episode well or they could say goodbye to their jobs.
Thanks to that, we got the best animated Conan episode ever made: Episode 47 - 'Sports Club Murder Case'.
If you really enjoy god tier animations, then you can't watch that episode only once. Every time you watch it you'll notice something new.
Literally a 10/10 episode, all the details, all the reaction face material, the clothes they designed for that single episode only, the colors, everything is perfect.

A little boy falls in love with a big girl.
Unable to confess, the littlest detective is gifted by a deus ex machina with the girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.
But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to the girl, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, he finds out that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the MC's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush and is fully grown.
Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. After Haibara arc, there was a long filler arc about a faggot named Keisuke or something. That was totally irrelevant to the plot so you could ignore that.
After his arc, three gundam characters were introduced, all three were suspected to be a BO agent called Bourbon. Amuro is Bourbon and it was revealed he's actually a double agent. His character conflict wasn't resolved completely but now a new BO agent named Rum is going to enter the story.
