I write anime I haven't watched down on a post it, put ??? if the reviews were inconsistent or scarce,if the premise or some other element didn't exactly appeal to me or some other noteworthy remark(you'll see "preskočit prvu epizodu"="skip first episode" next to Gungrave etc.). If I watched the anime I'll cross it out with a horizontal line,if I dropped it I'll put an x over it, if I didn't finish it but I plan to return to it someday I'll draw a square around it and if I see that it's too fucking long and that I probably won't finish it(mostly shounen that go to shit or that I've become tired of) but there's a small chance that I'll return to watch the rest it will be crossed over with a wavy squiggly line. When I finish all the anime(or drop etc.) on a post it then I put the post it in a box called "Anime watched".

While I remember all 1k shows I've watched it's difficult to summon up titles. When looking back through things it's easier to have a list for shows that didn't leave a huge impression.

Mpv script automatically saving episodes as I watch them into a json. Syncing the json to my vps where I have my private site hosted where I can stream episodes if i need to. Nice thing is json is synced both ways, so if I stream something, then return home I don't need to skip the episode manually because my mpv has it marked as watched. On my computer using script that puts all unwatched seasonal episodes into a playlist automatically, so I never even need to open my torrent folder.
ricing this sort of stuff is pretty fun.

Excel file, one series per row: name, studio, year aired, season aired, year watched, season watched, # of episodes, subs used.

I made a spreadsheet because I kept forgetting things people would recommend. The categories are done/ongoing/backlog, with 4 tiers of backlog priority. There is also a column for notes, which I find much more useful than a numerical rating.
I simply never remove any series. Therefore, the directories that lack a file noting the next episode to watch mark series I've seen.
