Tekketsu was bad. And the finale was awful as well. The amount of apologetic Tekketsufags on /a/ and /m/ is quite frankly sickening. Story went nowhere most of the show, Orga regressed, Biscuit's death was pointless and had no impact, and Mika was nothing but a fucking plot device while Ein's curbing of Azee, Lafter, and Shino didn't result in anything.

Its not an opinion, its objective fact. AGE turned to shit at its very end and final arc with Kio. So what, at least shit happened, characters actually died, and a plot made somewhat coherent sense before the original team got fired. As a result of actual impacting factors to both the characters and main story, the characters were influenced and changed.
What happened in Tekketsu? Its 20 episodes of nothing but heavy exposition, spoon-feeding, and nothing of consequence happening. Akihiro's brother shows up in the most predictable plot twist at the end of the first episode with the Brewers, dies shielding his brother, and that's it. Then fast forward about a cour later and you have Biscuit dead just for the sake of emotional drama with nothing leading to this and Mika being as flat as ever while Orga regresses on the sidelines while the spotlight has Kudelia doing her every episode flip-flopping.

Over the last two decades I've watched a great deal of anime, maybe even more than the average /a/non, and out of all of it G-Reco is doubtless the most challenging and important show I've ever seen, leaving even other classics like LoGH in its dust. All episdoes are filled with amazingly detailed and complex storytelling, sharp characterization,and they're mighty exciting to watch, to boot.
That having been said, I can actually understand why this show's viewership is solimited and so many people don't understand what's going on For many, G-Reco will probably be so lifelike and believable that it doesn't even function as entertainment. In that sense, the show's greatest strength is also its only weakness, as there's nothing remotely sensationalistic or cliched about it, no reliance on overdirected action scenes, contrived cliffhanger endings, or improbable plot twists. For all involved, the season is filled with setbacks, frustrations, and long periods of waiting for something to happen, just like real life. The action quotient is also a lot lower than you'll find on a show like Aldnoah/Zero, and what violence there is is frequently disturbing, but it's always employed with a purpose, rather than just for the sake of mindless entertainment.
The world is made to look as and feel as real as possible, as though you're actually there-no dream sequences, no haunting visions, only one extremely brief flashback-an emphasis on realism that extends to the most seemingly insignificant bits of setting and dialogue. It all adds up to a show that's unfailingly convincing and authentic, but definitely not for those looking for an escape.

Honestly the last chunk I only preferred because we got a speedier progress. That however meant crushing needed moments together for the last 4 episodes and making the flow bad.
