Anyone know how /tv/ feels about this? Shawshank Redemption has been #1 for a long time. It's a satisfying movie but there's no way it's the greatest movie ever. This was my first encounter with the unreliability of user charts.

Not sure how this started, if you don't like it why would you keep on watching? That's beyond stupid, for my side it got me since the first episode, how Gintoki, Shinpachi and Otae were introduced, it completely got my full attention and keep on watching, every time I finish an episode I just wanted to know more about this characters, and the next I knew it was that I ended the whole 201 episodes. I think that most people want more epic fights like in Naruto or One Piece, but that doesn't happen often and the first time that it happens is like 50 episodes into it, which is mainly why people stop watching it, again, if you didn't liked it, just don't watch it.

That's not unreliability, it's how they work.
For the greatest movie of all time to be on the first place, you would need to find a majority supporting it as such. Because that's pretty much impossible, the movie of whom the most users think it's really good is on the first place.
