I just finished watching Berserk a few minutes ago, before that I had only read the manga
Overall it was pretty decent most of the time with the major exception for me being the ending. It felt way too rushed and it could have done with another episode to finish it all off properly - it just felt like it left off in the middle of the thing, and if i hadn't read the manga I'd be a bit confused by it

The manga is really good. The good thing going for the anime was the godlike ost and still following the script of the manga, mostly.

I agree, the manga is a solid 10/10 for me and the anime is maybe an 8/10, I enjoyed it and I did actually really like the character designs and art style of the anime.
I watched the first CGI film the other day, too, and that was okay too. I'm hyped for the new anime

I feel like if the manga wasnt such a masterpiece with its incredible art and intresting story and the anime was a thing on its own, it would score a perfect 10 for me. But comparing it side by side with the manga and it loses a point.
The anime atleast has that atmospheric music i always put on while reading a new chaptertwice a year :(
The anime has its moments. Overall I think the atmosphere was decent, and the soundtrack is amazing. But I didn't like the eclipse scene as you said, and the filler + removing Puck and Skull Knight are just eh.
Honestly, I think the third movie does the eclipse scene much better.

I watched Berserk recently too
You should watch the films too. If you don't really like the 3D stuff (it's pretty bad in the first two) skip and watch the third film, it's just a repeat of the last 6 or so episodes of the show but with added stuff to better set up the upcoming series. Skull Knight stuff is pretty cool and the third film has tons if sex.

I'm hoping there will be more flashbacks to Gut's time after he left the mercenary band and Gambino but before he joined the Hawks. That little chapter with Chicchi was pretty great

I mad because even the third movie still doesn't completely connect to the Black Swordsman arc (which also hasn't been completely animated). Will they address it in the upcoming movie/project or whatever they are doing?
They need to show him getting his demon baby and the Dragonslayer remember? And the complete Black Swordsman.
And I don't know, in the next movie, Lost Children Arc. Lookds good to me.
Not sure if the whole Conviction Arc would fit in one movie. It would have to be high budget too. And then there's the Millenium Falcon Empire arc... Which starts great and then introduces Schierke and magic. The beginning of the end.
At least we get Berserker armor by the end of it and then it's Fantasia (fucking one piece ship man)
