Well if you preorder a VN you'll pretty much always get something, be it soundrack, tapesty, shikishi etc.
And if you don't preorder you might as well buy second hand for 60-70% of the original price.
Again, not sure how much is this known on /a/, but second hand anime, LNs, music, eroge, normal games etc. are a big thing in Japan. Poorer eroge fans probably just buy the game, take the extras, install the game and sell the disc+box back.
