Oliva doesn't count because of the sheer thickness of his muscles, that was the point. Probably no other character can do that shit, and he blocked it with his arms, not his abs. Dunno why you think Hanayama or Yuujiro can't be hurt by a gun though. Hanayama gets shot nonstop in Scarface Gaiden (pic related), and Yuujiro got downed by tranquilizers. Their skin isn't invulnerable, their bones aren't invulnerable; it's just their muscles that are.

Of course Yuujiro* (get used to it, that's how it's written and how we're translating it) got stronger, but that doesn't make him immune to weapons damage. "Gun" is extremely nonspecific when it comes to damage: a small pistol like what Musashi's holding probably won't do much if anything, but Golgo could probably kill most of the cast with his M16.

He already showed he's immune to blades not wielded by Musashi, even his eyes are (the insanely durable glass points got dragged over his eyes with his own strength). And he tanked super lightning. Hanayama tanked blows from Rex, who obliterated a fucking train, and one shotted him. Yuujiro literally no sold a punch form Hanayama, not even flinching. That and the lightning add up to Yuujiro being pretty much immune to explosions. Yuujiro, at this point, cannot be killed by anything short of a nuke (or, apparently, Musashi).

The only person he's really "willingly" fought was Yuujiro, and that's debatable - he demanded to meet Pickle, but is now more entertained by playing with a gun than by fighting Pickle, so I'm not sure this counts as a fight yet.

It's from a one-off "miracle" event that is completely unlike the rest of the series (I say this because this is from series 4, which is taking an extremely radical departure from the first 3 series), involving years of genetic research and the only real medium in the world transferring the real Musashi's soul into a cloned body.

Here's my prime example of sanic Musashi.
You can see that Yuujiro is just now jumping over the blade, but Musashi's wrists and arms have already turned for another swing in a millisecond. He knew Yuujiro would jump the blade and had already neurologically reacted to it when he started his swing. That's how fast he is.

You can always watch the anime since it covers all the first series, it's not as good as the manga but if you can't read moon there's no other way, unless you want to wait some more.
You can move to the new series but you'll miss the introduction of quite a lot of important characters that became mainstay elements of the series like Retsu, Shibukawa or Jack.

That's first series. Ironically, we just finished scanlating that fight like a week and a half ago or something. The first series is not even close to being completed in scanlation, but that doesn't matter.
The first series has taken forever to get scanlated because nobody really needs to read it to understand the manga. Virtually everybody interested in the series watches the anime to finish series 1 once they reach the end of the current first series scanlations. It's nowhere near as good as the manga, but it's still watchable and is really the only way to know 100% of what happens in the first series as of today. That being said, if you don't want to watch it, you don't have to. After that fight, the only things you're missing are Baki's first fight against his dad (predictable results) and a tournament that serves little purpose beyond introducing the new cast for series 2 (best characters). So, do whatever you want. I linked our site above in the thread if you ever want to post a message or whatever.

Inconclusive and ended in a way so that people can just say they're "near equals." Yuujiro got cut up a little but kicked Musashi in the balls and made him drop his swords. Musashi could have been killed back then as he was writhing on the ground. If we go by the same rules as the Baki fight, then Musashi already died.
Musashi got up and revealed an incomplete no-sword technique he was trying to master. Even Yuujiro couldn't dodge it completely when he was dodging Musashi's swords by a hair's breadth before so it proved Musashi can actually hurt Yuujiro even if the new technique was incomplete. Then Motobe interrupted before Musashi can try the technique again.
While Yuujiro was busy raging at Motobe, Musashi made a cutting gesture to his neck to make him stop. Since surprise attacks, using distractions/feints and lightning fast movement is what Musashi does, you can say Yuujiro also died because Musashi has shown several times he can cut Yuujiro if Yuujiro doesn't dodge.
So they just went to a bar to drink afterwards since apparently, that's what you do after proving you could kill one another.

Speaking of Musashi's book, I tried a bunch of different downloads, and the only translation I could find constantly talks about "strategists", when going by context you can clearly see it means swordsmen. Why is this? It's really weird.

Pretty sure the word used is senryaku. The first kanji used is for battle. When he's talking about strategy, he means battle/military strategy. So a strategist in that context would be a person who actually thinks about what they're doing on the battlefield; i.e. someone who survives, like Musashi. I don't know what word he uses for strategist (as opposed to strategy), but it's probably something similar in origin. He's likely using it not in place of swordsman, but in place of "fighter" or "warrior". There's a part in the book dedicated to the significance of the different kanji regarding the term senryaku, so he was really committed to the bit.
Musashi liked his wordplay/jokes, and it's actually the basis of the name Niten Ichiryuu. The "real" name is Nito Ichiryuu, meaning something to the effect of "Discipline of two swords [functioning] as one". Niten Ichiryuu means "Discipline of two heavens as one" or somesuch bizarre, jokey, Buddhist name. So realistically, it should come as no surprise that he would be a jackass about other terms too in a serious text.

It's a little later than that.
You should note that it wasn't in the same magazine and it's not on Batoto (both because of censorship), or really anywhere easy to access. I think half the sites had censorship issues with it, and the other half just plain didn't want it on their sites. MK and maybe MT will have it.
It fills the narrative in that period better, because you actually know what happens and why Baki reacts to Yanagi the way he does. Without it, it just seems like they might have chickened out, not done it yet, or just flatly been interrupted by Yanagi's presence.

Yuujiro told him not to bite into certain materials, such as thick fibrous shit like Motobe's blazer. He forgot, and lost his teeth because of it. Without his teeth, he couldn't use his teeth/mastication/jaw muscles to bolster his physical prowess.
We've always seen Jack follow through with attacks, he's never stopped an attack short just because somebody looked like they might be doing something weird. That's how he crushed Ali Jr. Motobe capitalized on that by just placing a dagger in his hand right before Jack kicked him (causing him to impale his own foot on it), by using a dull sword to destroy Jack's newly elongated legs, etc. Jack literally punched Motobe *up* the tree that he was pressed against, which Motobe was waiting for - he smashes Jack in the face once he's in unavoidable range. Jack's strikes there were weak because he was wildly flailing and had no teeth; there wasn't much *real* force behind them.
Motobe was playing a tactician's game. Look at this page. Jack dodged Motobe's sword with his right leg because it was heading for his right leg - he didn't consider that Motobe would keep swinging, and hence got his left leg fucked up. He didn't expect Motobe to throw a cigarette into his left eye. He didn't expect that Motobe wouldn't even bother blocking his kick, just allowing himself to be wounded in exchange for stabbing Jack through the foot. He didn't expect to be tied up with hojojutsu. So on, and so forth.
It's pretty simple stuff, once you know what the text says.
