Well, not necessarily. The monsters are appearing in multiple cities, but that doesn't mean they're everywhere. What city is the tournament taking place? What cities have been attacked so far? We saw a map of all the cities and their respective locations in the anime before, I believe, so using that one could attempt to discern whether the MA is only attacking a certain section of the continent. Maybe the areas closest to Z City? Or not, I suppose, since they wouldn't want to give away their position.
