I think the exact problem was that people weren't expecting the puru clone to live. When they finally killed her it was lazy, dumb, and basically forced in there for the sake of 'Purus are not allowed to live.' Ridhe had already stopped his rampage, and was almost ready to join back up, when 'oops, we forgot we had a Puru that needed killing.' For one of the objectively best characters in the series, getting such a dumb, forced death for the sake of a dumb nod to 'cyber newtype = death' cliche, it felt cheap and it's no surprise plenty of people are still flustered over it to this day.Probably the only way I'll end up watching Unicorn TV is if they retcon that.
