Why did KyoAni ruin the designs?

They always ruin the designs and unique artstyles. They probably think k-on design increases the sales (or just can't draw something else).
I think the character designs I'm the show are fantastic. I know it's been done before but I always appreciate having an original character design for all the side characters too. Shit takes time but makes everything more believable.
