At this point I just follow fansubs for as long as possible. But if the show if about to end or is already over and they don't seem to be anywhere near catching up I just fall back on HS and finish it. I don't have the time to wait for them while the new season is already started, considering just how many shows I end up picking up and watching every 3 months.

Depending on the show I'll wait almost until the season is over. I marathoned eps 7-12 of Grimgar yesterday for example, and like 2 weeks ago finished Prison School and Taimadou. Other shows I just drop, like Shimometa or Garo. And some others like Dimension W I just move over to HS once I find Duplex is the Staller for FFF and that DDY can't be trusted to edit something.

Only a few subbers give a shit anymore about giving quality subs in a timely manner because they all think "well, fuck it, why bother, there's a simulcast anyway". Seriously, the only show I've been able to watch on time each week was Mori's Dagashi Kashi. That guy's a Saint because he basically didn't like the show and only put up with it because people asked him to and yet, he did quality subs every episode, alone, on the same day. This is the only guy that truly is passionate about fansubbing and that he's doing it for the fans rather than for "himself"
