I actually liked that she wasn't such a perfect mom. There was a legitimate argument that she wasn't really fit to raise a kid, but she was so easy to connect with and put so much of herself into making things work that you just can't help but feel she's earned the right of being a parent despite her fuck-ups.

She was basically the most realistic depiction of a mother in an anime that I've seen. And I fucking love her for that.

It was better than anyone would have expected it to be. Great fanservice, decent plot even as far I remember. Easily the best anime adaptation of an American property, far superior to any of the Marvel attempts.
Though I can't help but be a bit disappointed thatMasane wasn't Riko's biological mother. A MILF that never actually gave birth can still be good, but it's just not the same.

Honestly, I can't recall the fanservice being all that great. The character models were so poorly animated a lot of the time I couldn't find them titillating. And the scenarios themselves were usually not even as risque as what you'd see in nearly any popular harem comedy series that aired in the last few years.
