Think about it: 60 is 2.5 times as much frames as 24. This equates to 36 more frames per second, 2160 more frames per minute, and a whopping 51840 more frames per 24-minute episode, for a total of 86400 frames. Comparatively, anime at 24fps only has 34560 frames per 24 minutes. That's a lot of left out detail and color, which explains the contrast between the two.
Imagine it as the sine wave of your electrical current cutting 36 more times per second than normal - your lights would visibly flicker and reduce detail in your home.
